Differences and Inequalities in Civic Participation among Bulgarian Youth

摘要: This paper addresses the question: what explains differences in young Bulgarians' involvement informal volunteering, participation associations and civic protests twenty-five years after regime change. The explanation is based on results of a representative social survey with 1030 people aged 14-27 summer 2014, funded by Friedrich Ebert Foundation. data show that both attitudinal behavioral measures engagement are influenced, albeit different degrees, structural factors such as gender, education, family background, ethnicity, locality socio-economic status. A very important intervening variable trust which this measured towards variety groups. In general, country tend to express high friends low outside their immediate milieu. kind capital mobilizing closed horizontal ties ensures support uncertain times but does not enable more enriching, even if uncertain, contacts members wider communities.
