摘要: Apicidin, a histone deacetylase inhibitor, has broad spectrum of anti-protozoal activities against apicomplexan parasites. In the present study, we evaluated inhibitory effect apicidin on asexual growth bovine Babesia parasites (B. bovis and B. bigemina) in vitro, as well vivo microti mice. The bigemina was significantly inhibited presence 3 ng/ml apicidin. Complete inhibition achieved fourth third days, respectively, after treatment with 729 These failed to grow again even when drug-free medium substituted. 50% concentrations were determined 7.1 20.7 ng/ml, vitro cultures serum-containing M199 medium. Severe morphological signs damage, such pyknotic degenerative changes, observed treated Apicidin 2 mg/kg caused significant altered parasitemia dynamics mice, compared untreated control could be an effective chemotherapeutic agent for human babesioses.
