摘要: As a study in vernacular history, this thesis examines the repertoire and history making practices of William “Scotty” Carmichael Collingwood, Ontario. Focusing on stories he told over radio, print, conversation, concept is used as theoretical framework, exploring how Scotty mediated decline industrial shipbuilding after Second World War through narratives about local sports heroes. reassessment folk proposes that reflexive discursive locally conceptualized systems meaning people use to think speak past, drawing attention oral, customary, material genres shape traditions making.
