摘要: Thought disorder (TD) has long been associated with schizophrenia (SZ) and is now widely recognized as a symptom of mania other psychotic disorders well. Previous studies have suggested that the TD found in clinically unaffected relatives SZ, schizoaffective bipolar probands qualitatively similar to themselves. Here, we examine which quantitative measures optimize distinction between patients diagnoses SZ features (BP) from nonpsychiatric controls (NC) each other. In addition, investigate whether these same also distinguish their respective (RelSZ, RelBP) well We find deviant verbalizations are significantly co-familial RelSZ, but dissociated from, not for, BP disorder. contrast, combinatory thinking was nonspecifically psychosis, did aggregate either group relatives. These results provide further support for usefulness identifying potential non-penetrant carriers SZ-risk genes, turn enhancing power genetic analyses. findings suggest refinement phenotype may be needed order suitable use
