摘要: In blood vessels, the crosstalk between vascular endothelial cells and mural (pericytes/vascular smooth muscle cells) play a central role in regulation of formation, maturation, remodeling, stabilization function. During embryonic development as well tumor growth metastasis process angiogenesis is tightly regulated by factor. Since factor receptor mainly expressed on cells, much effort has been made towards context cell biology anti-angiogenic therapy. This cell-centred view greatly ignored fact that newly formed capillary networks stay close contact to surrounding tissue including peri-endothelial such pericytes cells. Pericytes pivotal during morphogenesis stabilization. this respect interplay drawn lot attention last decade. Today mechanistic molecular analysis pericyte physiology rapidly growing field biomedical research. It highly appreciated pericyte-mediated vessel maturation critical determinant therapeutic window Due increasing evidence importance review summarizes origin pericytes, markers determine, signaling pathways which are important function biology, progression.
