摘要: By a combination of surface-sensitive photoelectron spectroscopy and molecular dynamics simulations, we characterize the surface propensity iodide anion in aqueous solutions at acidic, neutral, basic conditions (pH = 1, 6.8 13). In both experiments an increased concentration I- is found non-neutral solutions. We interpret these findings terms coadsorption with hydronium low pH "salting out" by hydroxide from bulk solution to high pH. The present study thus accord picture weak adsorption depletion hydroxide, being sharp contradiction interpretation electrophoretic titration measurements strong enrichment OH-.
