摘要: The external nitrification (EN) biological nutrient removal (BNR) activated sludge (ENBNRAS) system shows considerable promise for full-scale implementation. As an aid this implementation, a mathematical simulation model would be invaluable tool. To develop such model, study was conducted to select the most suitable serve as starting point further development. For this, existing available models BNRAS systems are compared with one another and evaluated against experimental observations in literature on ENBNRAS systems. One process immediately apparent crucially important is anoxic growth of phosphorus accumulating organisms (PAOs), associated PAO denitrification P uptake polyP formation. These linked processes lacking earlier kinetic systems, which were based aerobic only, but have been incorporated into more recent models. This provides substantive body information modelling aspect. Other significance identified require consideration anaerobic slowly biodegradable COD (SBCOD) hydrolysis readily (RBCOD), loss. Both significant impact predicted BEPR performance. Due uncertainties mechanisms quantification these two processes, it concluded that extensively validated should selected development, omissions addressed progressively, using relevant drawn from models,
