FDI and Gender Wage Inequality

摘要: In most countries, particularly the developing ones, gender differentials in labour markets are manifested terms of a gap relative wages among men and women workers. There few empirical studies that have examined impact FDI on gender-based wage inequality, findings which mixed nature. may be two contrary effects differentials: one hand, widen due to weakened bargaining power crowded MNCs, while other MNCs reward higher education levels female workers, lowering gap. While it is widely argued foreign capital propels an economy towards trajectory growth, objectives egalitarian welfare-maximizing state fulfilled only if economic growth welfare accompanied by reduction inequality. The analysis this chapter shows although countries with labour-intensive export-oriented sectors accentuate also raise economy. These results point trade-off between inequality
