摘要: To compensate for the lack of high resolution data on variation in environmental parameters before establishment monitoring networks, we evaluated dog cockle shells (Glycymeris glycymeris; Mollusca: Bivalvia) as archives temperature and climate perturbations such North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) over last 50 years. Oxygen isotope compositions were measured from annual increments collected Bay Brest Chausey Islands northwestern France. Simultaneously, sclerochronological analyses performed same shells. isotopic ratios compared to situ salinity stations buoys order build a specific paleotemperature equation (r2 = 0.87; p < 0.001) cockle. The was used estimate sea surface temperatures around between 1966 1994. Standardized growth indices (SGI) calculated through methods strongly correlated oxygen isotope-derived temperatures. SGI however did not capture area's predominant pattern, NAO. This study demonstrates that can be long-term high-resolution reconstructions past
