摘要: The general mortality rate among patients suffering from peptic ulcer has been materially reduced by surgical care. reduction due chiefly to early operation in those having one type of lesion; that is, ruptured ulcer. 1 following operations for chronic ulcer, uncomplicated rupture or gross hemorrhage, always much lower, but proportionate progress reducing this figure further not made. This remained some time at a relatively stationary level about 10 per cent, 2 except selected series.
