Evolutionary history of the retinoblastoma gene from archaea to eukarya

摘要: The retinoblastoma gene product (Rb protein) has a role in progression through the cell cycle, regulating activities of several transcription factors such as E2F. Since its functional loss results impaired differentiation nervous, hematopoietic, and muscular systems, Rb protein is very important for regulation multicellular eukaryotes. To gain an insight into evolutionary history gene, I have compared amino acid sequences proteins eukaryotes unicellular organisms including yeast, archaeotes, viruses. Two short sequences, N-terminal pocket A regions human protein, found to be well conserved, also single Saccharomyces cerevisiae. These were two Archaeoglobus fulgidus Methanococcus jannaschii. Further, most conserved sequence B region among eukaryotic was poxviruses. From these data, conclude that regions, backbones are derived from different organisms, respectively, ancestors archaeote poxvirus, ancestral been lost during
