摘要: Abstract How does the number of candidates competing in an election affect voting behavior? In theory, as running for office increase, citizens’ utility from also increases. With more candidates, voters are likely to have that close their ideal points. Practically, however, means a higher cognitive burden who must learn during campaigns order find “ideal” candidate. this paper, we examine how choice set size affects behavior. Using survey experiment, show subjects presented with many options less about vote based on meaningless heuristics, and commit errors, when compared choose between only few candidates.
