摘要: We conducted a meta-analysis of local hunting practices affecting the carnivores forested Africa and Madagascar to collate information available on this subject assess underlying trends in offtake rates. located 62 relevant articles detailed literature search; data included taxa reported as hunted, purpose method. The families most hunted were Herpestidae Viverridae (excluding Civettictis civetta), with 32.7 19.2% total records, C. civetta comprising 13.5% records Nandina binotata 9.9%. Hunting for consumption was commonly (61.7% all records). Sale associated 60.5% sale any kind 56.6% records. number carnivore carcasses or parts sold at urban markets rose by 8.2% from 1990s 2000s. commonest methods traps (31.0% records) guns (16.6%). For reporting use guns, 89.4% also some kind. conclude that are pervasively across regions mainland Madagascar, rates both personal income probably increasing. These findings have implications efforts protect dwindling forest ecosystems establish sustainable consumptive practices.
