摘要: A study was carried out to compare the sensitivity as well cost of three different methods psychiatric case detection. It found that simplest method, which involved interviewing about 3% adult population, with a questionnaire taking only five minutes complete, picked up many epileptics and nearly psychotics inquiry all adults in population using sophisticated structured interview schedule. method medium complexity, short five-minute given one member each family, detected addition psychotics, juvenile mentally retarded. The one-ninth one-fifth most method. complexity is recommended for use rural psychiatry programme developing countries.
