Phylogenetic analysis of Sorghum and related taxa using internal transcribed spacers of nuclear ribosomal DNA.

摘要: The phylogenetic relationships of the genus Sorghum and related genera were studied by sequencing nuclear ribosomal DNA (rDNA) internal transcribed spacer region (ITS). was extracted from 15 accessions, including one accession each sections Chaetosorghum Heterosorghum, four accessions Parasorghum, two Stiposorghum, seven representatives three species section (one S. propinquum halepense, five races bicolor). maize (Zea mays) line, H95, an Cleistachne sorghoides also included in study. Variable nucleotides used to construct a strict consensus tree. analyses indicate that propinquum, halepense bicolor subsp. arundinaceum race aethiopicum may be closest wild relatives cultivated sorghum; nitidum 2n=10 relative bicolor, Heterosorghum appear closely other more than Parasorghum; Parasorghum is not monophyletic. results very ancient diverse group.
