摘要: Consumer e-health is rapidly becoming a fundamental component of healthcare. However, to date only provisional steps have been taken increase our understanding how consumers engage with e-health. This study, an interpretive review, assessed the evidence about consumer use and identified five categories that encompass e-health: (i) peer-to-peer online support groups; (ii) self-management/self-monitoring applications; (iii) decision aids; (iv) personal health record; (v) Internet use. Our findings reveal offers many possibilities potential benefits, although there appears be apprehension concerning efficacy some interventions barriers relating trustworthiness Internet-acquired information. It imperative policy initiatives address these issues ensure services can effectively, efficiently, safely accessed.
