摘要: The present disclosure relates to a process for the preparation of medetomidine, 4-[1-(2,3-Dimethylphenyl)ethyl]- 1H-imidazoIe in an environmentally favourable and commercially feasible manner. Previous methods medetomidine use expensive 4-substituted imidazole derivatives as starting material. A practical way synthesis is provided which ring built up during multi-step from affordable, 2,3-dimethylbenzoic. Mild reaction conditions are used throughout process.
