Corporate Charitable Giving, Multinational Companies and Countries of Concern

摘要: This paper investigates the degree to which corporate charitable giving is influenced by a firm's internationalization and/or whether it has operations in one or more countries of concern. For sample large UK firms, we find evidence positive effect not for per se, but only presence particular countries. In this connection, salient country characteristic lack political rights civil liberties, and impact on restricted those that are, according Freedom House indicators, most lacking respect. Furthermore, our study highlights mode response stakeholder concerns pressures – offsetting qualitatively different from suggested earlier conceptual literatures.
