摘要: The health and economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic vary across space because social, economic, ecological factors are also spatially variable. Social vulnerability indices attempts to create a relative ranking natural or anthropogenic hazard have been widely used quantify community disasters. Here, we develop hierarchical socio-ecological index that compares counties in contiguous United States based on 18 variables grouped into four dimensions (ecological, health, economic) order capture range might contribute Covid-19. Variables were chosen review emerging literature about associated with poor outcomes from Covid-19, information sectors most at risk response, existing social indices. We find its related effects varies U.S., especially high Southeast U.S. low Upper Midwest, Great Plains, Mountain West.
