A rare complication of endoscopic sinus surgery: necrotizing fasciitis of the eyelid.

摘要: Necrotizing fasciitis is a soft tissue infection characterized by necrosis of fascia and subcutaneous tissue. It frequently involves the groin, abdomen lower extremities, but rarely head neck region. An unusual occurrence periorbital necrotizing after routine endoscopic sinus surgery in 57-year-old woman with history type II diabetes mellitus presented. Although disease very rare, all physicians should be aware manifestations this disorder its treatment. Early recognition prompt intervention plays an important role minimizing morbidity mortality rates.
