Total Cross Sections for Inelastic Scattering of Charged Particles by Atoms and Molecules. II. Negative Hydrogen Ion

摘要: The sum rule for the Bethe inelastic-scattering cross sections is applied to negative hydrogen ion, which it yields asymptotic total section electron detachment by charged-particle impact. calculation requires knowledge of two properties ${\mathrm{H}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$: incoherent-scattering function, computed from several different ground-state wave functions, and oscillator-strength distribution, deduced a variety experimental theoretical data. resulting impact, including all final H-atom states, ${\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{\mathrm{tot}}=4{{\ensuremath{\pi}}_{0}}^{2}(\frac{R}{T})[7.484\mathrm{ln}(\frac{T}{R})+25.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.5]$, where ${a}_{0}$ Bohr radius $\frac{T}{R}$ incident energy in rydbergs. Our result consistent with data Dance, Harrison, Rundel, but incompatible those Tisone Branscomb. A tabulation function atomic form factor also given.
