摘要: Australian workers’ compensation figures consistently reveal that physical and psychological injuries pose a costly burden to the economy. Since 1980s, many employers have increasingly been providing workplace massage programs their staff as one initiative redress this trend. Masseurs promoted effectiveness of intervention for improving musculoskeletal disorders reducing stress, claim therapy contributes toward increased employee engagement with workplace, thus resulting in productivity reduced levels absenteeism. Clearly, underlying aims such facilities is prevent manage work-related stress. However, notwithstanding these claims, there remains paucity scholarly literature investigating: (a) reasons why managers implement subsidise massage, (b) what employees feel are effects programs, and, (c) therapeutic intentions masseurs who offer therapy. Using three conceptually linked studies, thesis explores stories managers, employees, therapists order gain greater understanding perceptions about overall benefits massage.
