摘要: F-18 FDG PET-CT is a useful modality for monitoring residual or recurrent tumors after surgical resection. We report on 3 patients with intraperitoneal charcoal-induced granulomas mimicking peritoneal carcinomatosis images. Two of them underwent radical gastrectomy because advanced gastric cancer, and the other hemicolectomy sigmoid colon cancer. All had history chemotherapy using mitomycin C bound to activated carbon particles during surgery. Follow-up studies demonstrated increased uptake PET images alone. However, accompanying noncontrast CT showed variously shaped hyperdense nodules in dependent positions cavity, including paracolic gutter rectovesical space, indicating rather than carcinomatosis.
