Reconstruction of the bony chin using sagittal split osteotomies of the remaining mandible - A new technique for a special indication: Case report.

摘要: There are several indications for resecting the bony chin, such as squamous cell carcinoma, sarcoma, or benign tumors of jaw ameloblastoma. Several techniques reconstruction use metal plates and also revascularized free bone grafts iliac crest, fibula, scapula, common. In case poor vascular supply, however, alternative may be necessary. this report, a new technique is described using pedicled flaps from both sagittally split mandibular stumps following chin resection. These were on mylohyoid muscles advanced to restore continuity mandible. An advantage procedure was minimization soft tissue defect, making repair easier. Morbidity resection thus reduced, recovery patient very quick.
