摘要: Abstract: A new fauna of Lower Cretaceous (Albian) ichthyosaurs, which includes at least one genus and species, was recovered from deposits the Loon River Formation Hay River, Northwest Territories, Canada. All ichthyosaurs have been referred to a single genus, Platypterygius. The material, however, does not satisfy diagnosis for Platypterygius, it is distinctive enough warrant erection species ichthyosaur. Maiaspondylus lindoei gen. et sp. nov. distinguished other by an extensive overlapping contact jugal maxilla; marginal teeth with smooth crowns, fluted cementum, lingual curvature implantation in dental groove; humerus isomorphic proximal distal ends, featuring three articular facets medial facet smaller than lateral facets. holotype material described here, relationship ophthalmosaurs discussed.
