摘要: Functionalization of ionic liquids (ILs) with natural amino acids is usually considered as a convenient approach to decrease their toxicity and find new areas chemical application sustainable solvents, reagents or catalysts. In the present study, cytotoxicity several acid-containing (AAILs) acid-based cations anions was studied towards NIH/3T3 CaCo-2 cell cultures compared conventional imidazolium-based ILs. The presence an acid in anion did not lead significant toxicity, whereas cation it unexpectedly increased Exposure 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride glycinate induced apoptosis cells. study gives insights into biological effects AAILs shows that residue may make ILs more biologically active. Special attention should be paid plausible synergetic effect combination active molecules. results suggest possible medical rather than involvement green tool carry out reactions.
