Breeding dynamics of rice (Oryza sativa) for enhanced adaptation and grain quality

摘要: Rice is a very important crop feeding half of the world population. Its importance becoming increasingly high due to nutritive value and returns per given land area than any other cereal crop. However, its production facing major challenges such as degraded soil, need for grain quality, population growth, input costs, climate change variability threats plateauing yields. There now more urgent think about how increase rice yield feed an ever growing population, this largely come from increased yields area, rather expansion new committing them production. More importantly, reproductive resource under threat thus productivity must enhance conservation productive base sustainability. This article explores some avenues available meet challenges.   Key words: Climate change, (Oryza sativa).
