摘要: Water enema multidetector CT (WE-MDCT) is a reproducible, safe, and well-tolerated technique that combines preliminary bowel cleansing, retrograde colonic distension by intraluminal water, pharmacological hypotonisation, with contrast-enhanced MDCT acquisition of the abdomen pelvis. Increasingly proposed as best imaging in patients suspected or proven colorectal tumors, WE-MDCT provides most accurate, high-resolution multiplanar visualization wall thickness enhancement patterns normal pathologic conditions, optimal contrast between itself, hypodense lumen, pericolonic fat. Therefore, although drawback radiation dose, represents an appealing modality to investigate also chronic inflammatory disorders large bowel. The protocol are discussed, including patient preparation study interpretation. Elective may be indicated complementary impossible, incomplete, inconclusive endoscopy, stricture’s features upstream In ulcerative, indeterminate, Crohn’s colitis, helpful assess disease’s longitudinal distribution, mural thickening related activity, presence endoluminal pseudopolyps. Furthermore, comprehensively shows associated perivisceral changes, complications involving adjacent organs, extraintestinal manifestations, suggest possibility underlying carcinoma.
