摘要: Association mapping (AM) is a powerful approach to dissect the genetic architecture of quantitative traits. The main goal our study was empirically compare several statistical methods AM using data an elite maize breeding program with respect QTL detection power and possibility correct for population stratification. These models were based on inclusion cofactors (Model A), effect B), SNP effects nested within populations C). A total 930 testcross progenies field-evaluated grain yield moisture in multi-location trials fingerprinted 425 markers. For yield, stratification effectively controlled by Model A. high ratio variance among versus populations, B should be applied order avoid potential false positives. C revealed large differences allele substitution trait-associated SNPs across multiple plant populations. This heterogeneous have severe impact genomic selection studies, where are often assumed independent background.
