摘要: Abstract Background Physical activity is an important determinant of health and fi tness. This study provides contemporary estimates the physical levels Canadians aged 6 to 19 years. Data methods are from 2007 2009 Canadian Health Measures Survey. The a nationally representative sample was measured using accelerometers. presented as time spent in sedentary, light, moderate vigorous intensity movement, steps accumulated per day. Results An estimated 9% boys 4% girls accumulate 60 minutes moderate-to-vigorous on at least days week. Regardless age group, more active than girls. children youth spend 8.6 hours day—62% their waking hours—in sedentary pursuits. Daily step counts average 12,100 for 10,300 Interpretation Based objective robust measures, low. Keywords Actical, pedometer, behaviour, obesity, public health, motion sensor
