摘要: ABSTRACT.Transcranial electric motor evoked potentials (TCeMEPs) are routinely used intraoperatively to detect and prevent iatrogenic injury the spinal cord, specifically corticospinal tract. Complications related TCeMEP testing include potential for seizure induction, cardiac arrhythmia, scalp burns, infection, tongue or lip laceration. Among this list of complications, lacerations most common directly attributable transcranial stimulation. The technique low voltage stimulation correct placement oral bite blocks is successful in preventing patient injuries. We report two cases injuries following TCeMEPs discuss mechanisms prevention.
