摘要: Even during moments when we fail to be fully aware of our environment, brains never go silent. Instead, it appears that the brain can also operate in an alternate, unconscious mode. Delineating from conscious neural processes is a promising first step toward investigating how awareness emerges activity. Here focus on recent insights into neuronal contribute visual function absence percept. Drawing findings phenomenon blindsight results injury primary cortex and experimentally induced perceptual suppression, describe what kind information system analyzes unconsciously discuss routing responses accompany this process. We conclude processing certain stimulus attributes, such as presence motion or emotional expression face occur geniculo-cortical circuit runs independent parallel predominant route through cortex. speculate contrast, bidirectional interactions between thalamic pulvinar nucleus support large-scale integration are impeded suppression.
