摘要: The microscopic growth mechanism of gibbsite is examined via crystallization in the presence alkali metal ions. morphology found to be hexagonal plates sodium, but prisms potassium and caesium. former very similar calculated equilibrium which ignores effect medium. Further calculations examining possible lattice sites incorporated defects show that different positions are most stable for sodium potassium/caesium, providing an explanation morphology.
