摘要: BACKGROUND Frictional dermal melanosis over bony prominences (Lifa disease) is a common pigmentary skin disorder in Iraqi patients. Q-switched lasers are the gold standard treatment of correcting pigmentation; among them 532-nm and 1,064-nm lasers. OBJECTIVE To evaluate efficacy these hyperpigmentation due to Lifa disease. PATIENTS AND METHODS A prospective, comparative, controlled, split-lesion clinical trial study was designed. Nineteen female patients with diagnosis disease were enrolled. Each patient treated for 3 sessions at 2-week intervals. Nd:YAG laser used on left side right each lesion. Both objective subjective parameters assessed 1 months after last session. Darkness score, photographic assessment satisfaction, improvement itch recorded, respectively. RESULTS Seventeen completed study. The color score changes both sides demonstrated that although effective reducing pigmentation, wavelength had more significant response. Similar results obtained evaluations satisfaction scores.
