摘要: Background: In this study, carried out in the Camargue region (France), we combined entomological data with geomatic and modelling tools to assess whether location of breeding sites may explain spatial distribution adult mosquitoes. The species studied are important competent disease vectors Europe: Culex modestus Ficalbi Cx. pipiens Linnaeus (West Nile virus), Anopheles atroparvus Van Thiel, a former Plasmodium vector, An. melanoon Hackett, transmit Plasmodium. Using logistic regression model, first evaluated which land cover variables determined presence larva. resulting probability map larval then was used project average finding adults buffer area. This compared actual number collected, providing quantitative assessment dispersal ability for each species. Results: is mainly driven by repartition irrigated farm fields reed beds, their specific habitats. explained both size, reflecting ability, 700 m 1000 melanoon. comparatively stronger correlation observed suggested that other factors affect We did not find any association between biotope due species’ ubiquist character. Conclusion: By applying same method different species, highlighted strengths (irrigated beds), population distribution. paper demonstrates power quantify organization mosquito populations, allows better understanding links landcover, habitats, immature populations distributions
