摘要: Stable transformation of papaya (Carica L.) has been achieved following DNA delivery via high velocity microprojectiles. Three types embryogenic tissues, including immature zygotic embryos, freshly explanted hypocotyl sections, and somatic embryos derived from both, were bombarded with tungsten particles carrying chimeric NPTII GUS genes. All tissue cultured prior to bombardment on half-strength MS medium supplemented 10 mg 1−1 2,4-D, 400 glutamine, 6% sucrose. Upon transfer 2,4-D-free containing 150 kanamycin sulfate, ten putative transgenic isolates produced five regenerated leafy shoots. Leafy shoots six nine months bombardment. Tissues 13 these assayed for activity, positive. Six out 15 expression positive both GUS,
