摘要: The cell-age and interdivision-time probability density functions (PDFs) have been extensively investigated since the 1940s due to their fundamental role in cell growth. pioneering work of Powell established first relationship between PDFs. In literature, two definitions for PDF proposed. One stands age-at-rupture is experimentally observable, whereas other that a divides at certain age unobservable. From Powell's results pertaining unobservable PDF, Painter Marr derived an inequality true but incorrectly used by experimentalists analyse single-cell data. Unfortunately, confusion these PDFs persists. To dissipate this confusion, exact relationships are from age-structured model, which can be growth batch continuous culture modes.
