摘要: The profession of psychology preceded the science before term “psychologist” came into use. People have been trying to understand and help others with mental emotional problems since humans roamed earth. However, early applications psychological were begun only in latter half nineteenth century. first fields business, school, individual counseling. With World War I, recognition value measurements capabilities created new opportunities for practitioners psychology. 1920s a popularization United States struggles professional identity that followed. Professional made great strides post-World II era. In last 50 years has grown tremendously, accompanying publications other communications aiding keep up latest developments field. Battles between psychiatry turf areas psychotherapy, third-party reimbursement, more recently prescription psychotropic medication characterized widening practice As we move twenty-first century, psychologists are challenging they multivaried.
