摘要: The escalating demand for anthropic needs and urban development has highlighted the importance of monitoring change detection land use cover (LULC). With an increase in agricultural expansion infrastructural development, every surface on earth calls a long-term investigation modification patterns their underlying contributory factors. present monitors LULC changes assesses process controls Kohima Dimapur districts Nagaland, India. Currently, these two encompassing main cities hilly state are experiencing rapid urbanization unplanned developmental activities. Alike any other observed developing cities, likely to face environmental degradation, particularly, occurrence frequent landslides flash floods. study three objectives—(i) mapping periods (1998, 2008, 2018), (ii) comparative analysis during epochs (1998–2008, 2008–2018, 1998–2018), (iii) assessment For study, remotely sensed LANDSAT images (TM OLI) Geographical Information System (GIS) platform were utilized along with field surveys. Supervised classification technique was employed four major classes identified using Landsat level-1 system. overall accuracy varied between 91 98%. Results showed that Built Up areas have increased significantly both at rate 322.6 ha/year 301.9 ha/year 1998–2018. On hand, Agricultural Land Forest declined districts. Changes mainly due marginalization shifting cultivation, deforestation, migration, flourishing aquaculture farming. This furnishes baseline information data-scarce region Northeast India is insinuation policy-makers ensure sustainable planning urbanization.
