摘要: Periglacial substrates exposed by retreating glaciers represent extreme and sensitive environments defined a variety of abiotic stressors that challenge organismal establishment survival. The simple communities often residing at these sites enable their analyses in depth. We utilized existing data mined published sporocarp, morphotyped ectomycorrhizae (ECM), as well environmental sequence internal transcribed spacer (ITS) large subunit (LSU) regions the ribosomal RNA gene to identify taxa occur glacier forefront North Cascades Mountains Washington State USA. discrete types consistently identified several common widely distributed genera, perhaps best exemplified Inocybe Laccaria. Although we expected low diversity richness, our included 37 ITS 26 LSU operational taxonomic units (OTUs) likely form ECM. While surveys metabarcode markers detected numbers targeted ECM taxa, both fruiting body morphotype datasets genera were undetected either datasets. These hypogeous (Hymenogaster) epigeous (Lactarius) some which may produce sporocarps but possess small and/or spatially patchy genets. highlight importance combining various provide comprehensive view fungal community, even an environment assumed host species richness diversity.
