A Family of Chiral Ferrocenyl Diols: Modular Synthesis, Solid-State Characterization, and Application in Asymmetric Organocatalysis.

摘要: Readily available chiral diol scaffolds are useful as sources of chirality for asymmetric synthesis, however, few such readily in enantiopure form. Reported herein is a cheap and modular synthesis novel family ferrocenyl diols excellent yields with enantio- diastereoselectivity (>99 % ee 99 % de). These possess not only planar central chirality, but also axial around the iron atom. Characterization these by X-ray crystallography revealed intra- intermolecular hydrogen-bond networks depending on substitution at carbinol positions. The potential catalysts was subsequently demonstrated an hetero-Diels-Alder reaction which provided cycloadducts up to 84 % yield ee values ranging from -92 +72 %.
