摘要: In several mammals only one of the two types retinal horizontal cell, axonless A-type, appears to express neurofilaments. Neurofilament immunostaining rodent retinas reveals a cell plexus that has previously been interpreted as belonging A-type cells. Our intracellular Lucifer yellow injections strongly suggest there are no cells in rat and gerbil. Counterstaining dye-injected cellular structures with neurofilament antibody directly shows axon terminal systems axon-bearing B-type contain These unexpected findings explain reinterpret retinas. contrast, guinea pig retina reveal both A- cells, showing not uniform among rodents.
