摘要: During September 2011, post-emergence damping off of Swiss chard (Beta vulgaris subsp. cicla L.) was observed in a greenhouse Villa del Prado (Spain). About 20% the seedlings showed symptoms. Lesions were initially water soaked, dark brown necrosis crown tissue, irregular shape and sunken appearance on large plants, causing infected to collapse eventually die. Rhizoctonia solani isolated consistently from symptomatic plants. After morphological molecular identification isolates, pathogenicity tested by placing agar plugs four isolates adjacent stem at three or true leaf stage. In inoculated occurred while control plants did not show disease Pathogenicity using non-germinated seeds also tested. All produced extensive when seeds. To our knowledge, this is first report caused R. Europe. Additional key words: Beta cicla; damping-off; identification; identifica tion; silver beet.
