摘要: We give an overview of recent efforts to model Type Ia supernovae and related astrophysical transients resulting from thermonuclear explosions in white dwarfs. In particular we point out the challenges multi-physics multi-scale nature problem discuss possible numerical approaches meet them hydrodynamical explosion simulations radiative transfer modeling. examples how these methods are applied several scenarios that have been proposed explain distinct subsets or, some cases, majority observed events. case comment on successes shortcoming highlight important outstanding issues.
