摘要: ABSTRACT The fossil cypriniform fish †Jianghanichthys hubeiensis from Eocene mudstones in Songzi, Hubei, China, was originally assigned to the extant cyprinid genus Osteochilus, then later new by its original author, but with familial status uncertain. Other authors subsequently it family Catostomidae. A detailed comparison of osteological characters shows that is distinguished all other cypriniforms having (1) first principal anal fin ray branched; (2) supraorbital sensory canal largely exposed frontal roofed longitudinal flange; (3) meeting temporal within parietal; (4) maxilla bearing three dorsal processes; (5) surface anterior end dentary triangular and broad; (6) centrum has a similar size prominent posterior concavity second centrum. computed tomography (CT) scan matrix-covered skull confirm...
