Nutrient content of liquid milk: I. Vitamins A, D3, C and of the B complex in pasteurized bulk liquid milk

摘要: A survey was undertaken to update and extend available information on the vitamin content of pasteurized milk as produced at processing dairies in mainland UK investigate regional, seasonal breed effects. The concentration total retinol from non-Channel Island (NCI) breeds averaged 61·9 βg/100g summer 41·2 winter. Concentrations β-carotene were 31·5 10·5 winter respectively. Channel (CI) similar, but concentrations average 3 times higher. D NCI 0·033 0·026 There no marked variation mean C (14·5 βg/ml). Values for B vitamins (βg/ml) were: folic acid 0·060, 12 0·0042, riboflavin 1·78, nicotinic 0·71, pantothenic 3·60, biotin 0·020, thiamin 0·46 6 0·61. Seasonal most (c.v. 17·4%) a lesser extent 10·3%). only differences acid, values obtained CI being respectively 20 10 % higher than those breeds.
