摘要: Abstract In culture the development of carpospores Gloiosiphonia capillaris from Baja California, Mexico results in a free living crustose tetrasporophyte similar to Cruoriopsis. However, California isolates same species demonstrate direct gametophytic recycling without tetrasporophyte. These are interpreted as apogamous. tetrasporophytes, tetrasporangia were produced only when nitrate levels reduced ¼ normal strength. Tetraspores released and germinated form discs that uprights field gametophytes. Due differences branches, it was concluded G. not conspecific with Atlantic therefore specimens should be referred californica.
