摘要: Abstract In this work, a very simple exercise is proposed, which can be solved “by hand”, to facilitate the understanding of application homotopy methods as rigorous for calculation complex multicomponent distillation operations in context an advanced separation process course final year students Chemical Engineering. The problem involves calculating liquid–vapour equilibrium data binary mixture with homogeneous maximum azeotrope. results corresponding ideal are considered starting point principle, order achieve non-ideal at pathway. This procedure enables undergraduates perfectly understand characteristics these methods, thus avoiding mathematic complexity associated more problems, could need sophisticated software or some type programming tools.
