摘要: Abstract The young of the sooty shearwater and flesh‐footed have traditionally been harvested from Titi Island in Cook Strait, New Zealand. apparent decline this breeding colony prompted cessation harvesting 1960 eradication Norway rats during 1970s. An increase was expected, there attempts to measure by counting number active burrows fixed 10 m × plots 1987 1998. No change detected over period. Possible reasons for are discussed. is consistent with a more widely observed numbers, likelihood that has always on margin these species’ range.
