摘要: Patterns of food resource utilization by Barbus bocagei in a lowland river the central part Iberian Peninsula are presented and discussed. Focal points include feeding activity, diet composition seasonal ontogenetic shifts. Striking features overall pattern barbel its continuous bottom habits, high consumption detritus dipteran larvae narrow breadth. Seasonal changes availability elicited patterns, revealing trend to more generalist during spring. Barbel increase plant material large prey ontogeny, but overlap between size classes is high. The versatility foraging behaviour may be an important feature exploitation lotic systems.
